The Vanderbilt Genetics Institute and the Vanderbilt community provide a stimulating intellectual environment with unique resources that enable cutting edge basic and translational biomedical research. These include: electronic heath records (EHR) of over 3 million patients and BioVU, Vanderbilt’s biobank of over 280,000 patients with DNA.

Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized individual with strong background in data science, bioinformatics, human genetics or related field to contribute to the core work of the lab (Bachelor’s degree required, additional degree preferred). Experience programming and performing analysis in a Unix environment is necessary. This position will require developing methods and performing analyses across multiple large-scale projects, organizing and being responsible for management of data and resources. This individual will be expected to contribute intellectually to research, grants and lab meetings and will have the opportunity to lead their own projects depending on background and motivation.
